Introducing the Anti-Racist Animal Advocates Group by Sentient Media

Introducing the newest cohort through the Sentient Media Writers’ Collective, the Anti-Racist Animal Advocates Group. The Anti-Racist Animal Advocates Group is a monthly, live, interactive, chapter-by-chapter book club session for members of the Sentient Media Writers’ Collective.

Members will read “Aphro-Ism” by Aph Ko and Syl Ko and there will be two live, interactive Zoom sessions per month 1) to discuss the reading and get to know each other, and 2) to challenge yourself to apply what you’ve learned in your daily lives.

Here is what you can expect to gain from this group:

• Read the first six chapters of “Aphro-Ism” by Aph Ko and Syl Ko from March to August 2022.
• Practice using new language and thinking around topics related to Black veganism and anti-racist practices in animal advocacy.
• Gain access to racial affinity spaces in the Sentient Media Writers’ Collective.
• Get to know each other and yourself through dialogue and self-reflection activities.
